The Difference Between Barack and Hillary
Of course, there are many differences between them, but perhaps nothing more telling than this.
In Barack Obama's entire speech last night from New Hampshire, he used the personal pronoun "I" only five times.
By contrast, here is the text of the first four sentences of Hillary's speech.
I, me, my...I, me, my...I, me, my...
The bulk of Senator Clinton's speech was about politics and the campaign. The bulk of Senator Obama's speech was about a vision for America that most of us, regardless of party or policy, share.
He finished with these words.

I come tonight with a very, very full heart and I want especially to thank New Hampshire. Over the last week I listened to you and in the process I found my own voice. I felt like we all spoke from our hearts and I am so gratified that you responded. Now together let's give America the kind of comeback that New Hampshire has just given me.

...as we take this campaign South and West, we will remember that there is something happening in America, that we are not as divided as our politics suggests, that we are one people. We are one nation, and together, we will begin the next great chapter in America's story with three words that will ring from coast to coast, from sea to shining sea: "Yes. We can."
