At Least They Didn't Stone Him

Jim Long is one of the more interesting people to follow on Twitter. He works behind the camera for NBC News, and is therefore often an eyewitness to history as it unfolds.

Jim reports from Riyadh that when trying to access Twitter from Abu Dhabi, he received this message in his browser.

"We apologize the site you are attempting to visit has been blocked due to its content being inconsistent with the religious, cultural, political, and moral values of the United Arab Emirates."

Here's his post on taking free-speech and freedom of media for granted. For all of the many faults with the mass-media, we should still be thankful for the openness of our society here in the States.

Pants On Fire

Rogier van Bakel on Hillary:

"Unlike George W. Bush, who at least has the wherewithal to lie about the Big Things (such as sacrificing American blood in a criminally unjustified and idiotically botched war), the Dems' on-again, off-again frontrunner is an incorrigible truth-twister whether the lie is small and inconsequential or huge and of vital import."

Here are some specific cases in point from Christopher Hitchens of Slate (cited by van Bakel).
